Friday night FIDE Blitz Galsgow
#1
Smile
6 days to go and 2 entries so far. I suspect it may be cancelled if it stays like that.

Please enter if you can, Edinburgh got over 40 last time and we know Glasgow doesn't like Edinburgh beating it at anything.  Smile

Up to 5 now, we need a lot more for a 9 round tournament.

16 entrants so far, room for 20 more and today is the time to enter before the entry fee goes up.

Perhaps I was told one thing but the website wasn't changed to reflect this. Anyway £15 now to enter on the night or online, the more the merrier and we really would like some more. All kicks off at 7.

Results and pairings should appear here along with the FIDE report after the finish.

Recommend this event.  9 Rounds , very good central venue and the draw is made very quickly after rounds. We need more entries for these events, ideal for clubs/juniors to get together without the pressure of the longer games.

One of the striking differences between the Edinburgh events and the Glasgow events is how few juniors come along to Glasgow.

We offer lower rating prizes in an attempt to attract juniors and lower rated players, so they can still have competition among themselves. But so few of them attend Glasgow.

At the last Glasgow event, Chelsea Laing won one of our rating prizes. Recently we had 5 juniors at an Edinburgh event sharing the prizes. So it can be attractive for them. We also hope they enjoy themselves as well.

R7 Open up.

Huge congratulations to Svetlana for a well-deserved victory.
Thank you also to the organizers for doing an excellent job once again, and as mentioned before there should have been more participants.
I am looking forward to your next events!
