Round 4 underway. Adam Bremner and Calum MacQueen are on the live boards test transmission today. (see Alex McFarlane's previous post regarding test broadcast).

Apologies to Hamish Olson, his game is also on the test broadcast link, at the bottom.

MacQueen 1-0 IM Demuth (2442)! Excellent stuff.

Good wins today also for Adam, Hamish and Jonathan.

I'm far from an expert (very far) but thoroughly enjoyed Calum's game today. It seemed like quite a sharp game, where one miscalculation could prove costly. Well worth having a look at on the Hastings website, which has all the Master's games available, I think.

Adam Bremner is having an excellent tournament and I think his tournament performance is 2300+.

Given Adam's Hastings performance last year, he should probably consider moving there.

Some great results: really good to see Hamish continual in fine form after an excellent performance at the Worlds.

True, he's doing very well.

Three Scots on live boards today:

Adam's game seems to be stuck, as does Alan Grant's. I'm guessing the third set of boards contain CS boards and there are some technical issues with them. Hoping Hamish's game doesn't stick, as I'm following that one and Calum's.

I thought 13. O-O-O or 15. O-O-O looked logical for Mark Hebden, so I'm surprised he's just taken that option away. Castling king's side doesn't seem to fit with pushing the h pawn, so is he going to sit with his king in the centre? That must be good for black surely.

I do have a concern that the pawn on h5 may cause problems for Calum later in the game but it's a similar strategy to the one Calum employed so effectively yesterday, so hopefully he'll have it covered.

Hi Hugh,

Are all the boards working for you? I'm trying to watch these from work (ssshhhhhhhh!) and having some issues with Adam's & Alan's games. On Alan's board there are no moves on my screen, for Adam's game there is d4 only!

However, I am getting the moves for Calum & Hamish's games. Are you having this issue?

Edit - I see David has answered my points. On that note answer my text message. ;P
