FIDE rating displays
#1
We have changed the FIDE rating info to FIDE's own sorted displays. These have links to each player's record and include main, rapid and blitz data. There are links from the monthly FIDE news item http://www.chessscotland.com/news/?p=1594

The FIDE rating held in the CS program and displayed in the online grading system has not been updated to October yet. FIDE changed the number of characters permitted in a name and the new longer names have disrupted the import method and meant we are unable to refresh the data. Programmer Gordon Rattray is hopeful a fix will be possible soon.

Since divisions 1 and 2 of the SNCL are to be FIDE rated, do teams contact you as grader to get FIN's for squad members?

I can add players to the FIDE database as can SNCL arbiter Andy Howie.

Please just send a list of players and their birth year by email (grading@chessscotland.com) - the FIDE ID allocation is immediate. The only issues will be if any of the players are non-Scots (Scot = born here, at least one parent Scottish) and have not been resident in Scotland for at least two years (one year under 18). In those cases players will need to get an ID from their "home" federation before they can take part. We can only add players to the FIDE database as SCO.
