Any good chess tourneys in the summer?
#1
Yes I know we have our Scottish Championships and England has its version in Bournemouth (can't afford their entry fee!!)
However, I'm looking for a lovely holiday destination -- four/five star accom, great food, sights to see and a little chess exercise per day. (don't mindif it is only for Ian -- I I'm too low a player. I'll make him work and I can have cocktails, non alcohol of course, by the pool)
Any ideas - my school holidays are all of July and first two weeks in Aug.

PS nowhere where I have to get Jags or risk being bitten by beasties

If you are on a budget then Fano in Italy at the beginning of August was extremely good value last year. Nice place, very relaxed, historic interest with Roman settlement, entertainment in evening and beach during day.

I take it I don't have to sign up for all ten, do I. Need to be back in school by the 17/8

Sounds like fun though!!

Think you can pick and choose what you want to play.
