Loss of Grant
#3
I have copied the notifcation below, from the head of funding.

Whilst no feedback has been received yet, I have looked at the list of recipients and I could not argue that any of them are not deserving. They all seem to fall into a particular category of support or service provider, which Chess Scotland does not.

Quote:Dear Applicant,

Thank you for your recent application/s to the Third Sector Early Intervention Fund.

We are sorry to advise you that your application/s has been unsuccessful.

We will write to you by the end of April to give you more detailed feedback on your application/s. We realise this news will be very disappointing for you and your organisation but would ask that you wait until you receive your formal detailed feedback letter before contacting us.

Details of the Third Sector Early Intervention Fund announcement can be found here http://bigblogscotland.org.uk/2013/04/18/tseifawards/

We recognise the considerable demand from the sector for funding to support children, young people and families. Improving outcomes for these groups remains a key priority for BIG’s own lottery funded programmes, particularly Supporting 21st Century Life and Life Transitions and we are always keen to discuss ways we could do more.

You can find out more about our funding on our website www.biglotteryfund.org.uk

As your organisation is currently funded through Scottish Government’s Unified Voluntary Sector Fund, the Early Years Early Action Fund or the Community Learning and Development HQ funds, transitional funding will be available for the three month period from 1 May to 31 July 2013, in line with the Scottish Government Compact with the third sector. The purpose of the transitional funding is to provide support in finding alternative funding sources or to meet statutory requirements in relation to staff. There is no need to take any action to secure transitional funding, as the Scottish Government will contact you directly.

Yours Faithfully,

Roddy Byers

Head of Funding (Scotland)
