Freedom of Speech
#21
an old thorny issue here; I had a similar debate at a club i used to be in. Simply put bone fide club members at the start of the season got their place in the teams (A+B) by their published grade, any substitutes similarly were placed in the team order that their grading demanded. This allowed players to move up and conversly drop down teams. It saved arguments (mostly).
There were disagreements during the debate mostly about length of service to club, results for team etc BUT the clincher was what if a GM joined the club, would he start in the 2nd team and have to work his way up or would he just be put in the A team, thus causing a longstanding member to drop into B team. Fortunately the logical solution was carried (GM never ever joined tho Big Grin ) and ranking was taken from the annual grading list.
