#1
Out of interest...

Field of work/study?
Online games or sport?
Holidays in the sun or camping trips up north?
Beer or wine?

Field of work/study?
Accountancy

Online games or sport?
Online games - In particular oGame (a browser based game I have been playing for about 6 years :S). I also play on my xbox 360 - my favourite game of the moment is Skyrim that I would highly recommend. I'm also pretty good at Halo Reach but I have been too caught up with Skyrim that I haven't been on Halo in a while.

Holidays in the sun or camping trips up north?
Neither, lol. I've never been camping and I get grumpy when it is too hot. Although I would go with holidays in the sun over camping Tongue

Beer or wine?
Neither, I'm a cider man. A bottle of Magners with a glass half filled with ice on a summers day - cant be beaten.

Work / Study
Production Management (studied Brewing & Distilling)

Online Games / Sports
Chess (Chesscube & ICC) & Go, I am an Xbox 360 player and Skyrim is ridiculously addictive as has already been pointed out. Sports wise I am rugby daft and golf mad (but bad), unfortunately I no longer play either.

Holidays
I was a Munro Bagger in a past life, so up north suited me fine. I have spent a lot of time in Germany and am a keen supporter of the Oktoberfest!

Beer or Wine
Beer especially English ales

Hey Mike,

Do you play online much? Also, do you have chessmaster live for the 360? If so drop me a pm and I'll give you my gamertag and we can play online. 8)

Also, Skyrim is awesome. I have played it for ages and I am about level 40 and there are still countless parts of the maps, quests and gamerpoints to be won. Its my game of the year!

I have had two XBox consoles in my house in recent years; and both suffered the "red lights of death". I won't be buying another Microsoft console again - at least not in the next decade. Big Grin

Ahhh the old RROD eh? I've never experienced it yet and I have had two Xbox 360 consoles (an old white one 2nd hand too! and a brand new black elite) neither suffered the RROD error but one of my brothers have had it a couple of times. I believe with the newer consoles microsoft have improved the cooling of the consoles so RROD is no longer an issue - I also believe warranties extend up to 5 years to cover RROD. You never know Andrew you might find one under the christmas tree tomorrow. Big Grin

Out of curiosity, I know this topic is for outside the chess scene but what websites or online chess places do people frequent? I'm looking to play some more chess but not sure where to play...

Hi David

My sons use GameKnot quite happily. I use Chess.com, Chessworld, and Red Hot Pawn. Give them a try. You don't have to subscribe to any of them but you can still get 5 or 6 (sometimes more) games at a time for free. (Exception - If 2 or more of you use the same computer they will stop your access to the site unless you subscribe)

As for what I do outside chess

I work in libraries

I don't play any online games - never could get into them or see the point of them Sad Bowls or snooker on the other hand...

Holidays are for people with itchy feet ! - seriously, day trips are stressful enough for me and I need to lie down in a darkened room when I get home Big Grin

Beer or wine ? Tea or Irn-Bru are just fine (caffeine rush or sugar rush, take your pick) 8)
