Where does one see the CS Committee response?
P.S. Is it just me who finds the whole cloak and dagger secrecy surrounding much of the goings-on in CS quite amusing? It's a shame Agatha Christie is no longer around as I am sure there is some excellent material here for a good "whodunit".

Democracy: A system of government in which the supreme will is vested in the people collectively and administered by them or officers appointed by them.
There was some debate about whether CS should ditch that idea, go populist and see if we could run the organisation based on which policy decisions got the most smilies on the noticeboard.

Federation Monegasque des Echecs (Monaco) is strengthening its national team before the 41st Chess Olympiad in Tromso.
IM Igor Berezovsky transfered from the German Chess Federation to become the top rated player (2437) in Monaco.
GM Algimantas Butnorius completed his move from Lithuania after the European Senior Championships in Portugal. Butnorius is former World Senior Champion (2007) and 10-times Lithuanian Champion (alone or tied, between 1967 and 1993).

Roddy McKay has again just failed to set a world record.
Last summer his Scottish Championship winning span of 42 years (1971-2013) did not quite beat Howard Williams of Wales’ record of 43 years (1968-2011)
Craig Pritchett (1966) and Roddy (1968) played in the Olympiad team whilst attending Allan Glen’s School, Glasgow. Alan McGowan and I are in the middle of creating a record of this school’s chess successes for the archives.
Roddy’s Olympiad span will thus be 46 years (1968-2014). This does not quite beat Viktor Korchnoi’s record of 48 years (1960-2008).
Roddy’s Olympiad gap of 32 years between successive Olympiads (1982-2014) seems to be a record though.
Roddy will need to expand his horizons if he is to beat Viktor’s record. He has so far only played Olympiads in Western Europe: Lugano, Siegen, Nice, Lucerne and now Tromso. However the next Olympiads are expected to be in: 2016 Azerbaijan, 2018 Georgia or South Africa, 2020 South Korea

President of the European Chess Union Mr. Silvio Danailov has sent a letter to FIDE President Mr. Kirsan Ilyumzhinov with the list of 12 recommended Arbiters from Europe for the forthcoming Olympiad 2014 in Tromso, Norway.
