Some might say that just being there is already "Good Luck."
It certainly beats a cold Nov/Dec Scotland.

A big well done to Neil on his brilliant performance! Finished with 8 out of ten, amazing!!! Well done to Joe on a good performance and Gary as well, unfortunately he will be back to the highest rated Gillespie for next year Sad

Re: Benidorm Tournament - David Deary - 09-12-2013

Fantastic performance from Neil. Well done sir! Big Grin

Well done to the other Scots in attendance as well. Especially the guys playing in their first International tournie. I've always fancied playing this tournament but with my work commitments its impossible as it is always the first week of December. :\

Seven of us heading to Benidorm so far this year plus many friends we have met over the years. If you fancy some winter sun staying at a lovely hotel playing in a great value tournament, feel free to pm me for details.

Re: Benidorm Tournament - robin moore - 08-10-2014

Sorry,

Just to say there are two sections...Under 2300 and Under 2000. Don't worry if you are graded a good bit below 2000, players that have a Scottish grade of around 1500 regularly have achieved 50% scores and higher.

and it is reasonably cheap, with good accommodation at the hotel where the tournament is being played. check out the website; http://www.ajedrezenelbali.com/INGIndex.html

Eight of us heading to Benidorm on Friday. Some wives/girlfriends/partners seem to think we are going there for some sort of holiday and to enjoy ourselves. Not a bit of it ! Studying for every game while being forced to drink beer to fight off the unbearable heat takes it's toll.

It's a great tournament. Looking forward, as always, to good games and sharing some laughs with friends from home and abroad.
