Alan Jelfs Wrote:There was also a case a few years ago of 2 chess-players, a brother and sister, who had flown all the way from the USA to play a European tournament, and found themselves paired against each other.
Their protest was to play a slightly longer stalemate (12 or 14 moves, I think) but with no captures !
Can any-one find the game?

Jennifer Shahade and Jennie Frenklakh (both representing the USA) played a similar game at a World U16 Championships in 1996. I wasn't there, but was told about it by someone who was. This is the 'game':

That stalemate's way nicer, more original ;-)

p.s. that was an expensive draw Calum took in the last round

Re: Edinburgh Congress - Calum MacQueen - 02-04-2012

Sorry about that one Alan. Sadly it is just a draw.

Re: Edinburgh Congress - Alan Tate - 02-04-2012

Do not apologise to me Calum, I did not take a £400 pay cut!
