It would be good to have this annually : standard formula is to attract top GMs and then IMs, FMs etc follow.
In the end, untitled and younger players get to play and beat people like me (who rose at 5.30am to make the early start) which encourages their development.

Looks like it was a great event, well done.

Would have played, just don't like the incremental time controls. 5-10 mins per side would be much better.

But with increments the game is decided more on the chess, than just on who can move more quickly.
Won positions stay "won", and don't turn into draws or losses on time.
And from an arbiter's point of view I guess it helps if all the contentious games don't finish at exactly the same time.
