Re: Commonwealth Championships - Jonathan Livingstone - 02-07-2014

Martin Mitchell giving GM Chowdhury a good game, he might just hold a draw here.

Re: Commonwealth Championships - Jonathan Livingstone - 02-07-2014

Can Gupta pass a pawn? Looks likely to me. Man, anyone else getting that 'wish I was there (I'm a chessaholic)' feeling?

Re: Commonwealth Championships - Jonathan Livingstone - 02-07-2014

50. g4 for black is brilliant! I was looking at black playing Ke4.

Re: Commonwealth Championships - Phil Thomas - 03-07-2014

Shows that a version of the 2 minute draw claim is needed with Fischer timings.

My prediction for the next set of FIDE rule changes - due 2018 I believe.

Re: Commonwealth Championships - Phil Thomas - 03-07-2014

Game shows that Fischer tournaments need a watered down version of the 2 minute draw claim rule. One for FIDE to think about if they have nothing else to change in 2018

Re: Commonwealth Championships - Andy Howie - 03-07-2014

Won't happen, is why they brought in the 5 fold repetition and 75 move rule so arbiters can kill the game dead!
