For anyone interested, I’ve very recently rewritten and released my kids beginners chess software for Windows 8. It’s currently a free download in the Windows 8 App Store but will be charging a small fee in a few days.

Android and v2.0 in active development and hopefully finished soon.
Hi Paul
My sister is buying her son an Ipad for Christmas and is looking for a good chess app for it. I was wondering if your Dinosaur chess is available on Ipad? =)
Yes it is available in the apple APP Store.
I already recommended to a niece, for her young son.
I think it sells at £1.99
Thanks very much for this Jim. Will let my sister know =)
And now for Android in the Google Play store:

There is a much changed updated version of DC available for iPad/iPhone/iPod Touch in iTunes. Lots of improvements, new stuff, 'The Amazing Tactics Machine", further dodgy Scottish accent, etc.
It's a free update if you already have the iPad version.
I've a limited (by Apple) number of promo codes for free download if anyone wants one - although I was thinking that these should mostly be used for any schools interested, I know there is some interest there.

(I'll bring the Android version up-to-date in a few weeks when I've recovered.)
Thanks,
Paul
Is this program Paul, accessible for kids who are blind? I mean would it run with Jaws ?
Hi Paul, downloaded it onto my IPhone yesterday, never seen my phone from start of club till the end.
The kids( of all ages!!) love it.
Michael.

Hi Steve,
This release is for iPad and iPhone. Jaws, I think, is exclusively for Windows.
The RNIB has praised the iPad as a great gadget for the visually impaired with built-in accessibility features like screen zoom. Dinosaur Chess lessons are voice driven which should help as well.
There is an older PC and Mac version, but the vast majority of users of this App as using tablets - it's all changed around in the last few years.
Ultimately I'm too ignorant to answer your question properly, I guess it depends on the severity of the visual impairment. A fully blind child may struggle to use it - but I really don't know.
Cheers,
Paul

Thank Mike. I'll keep trying to improve it.
