Entries will be taken up to noon on Friday 4th May, but players who enter by midnight of Friday 20th April will be entered into a prize draw to win half price entry to all sections that they playing in over the weekend.
If you don't fancy 3 days of chess in one of our congress sections, why not play in either our Fide one day events ( Rapidplay and Blitz ) or even both. And again, enter by midnight tonight for a chance to get half price entry to the event!
Twenty five people will enter the prize draw for half price entry to May's Renfrew Congress, with seven of them also having a chance to win half price entry for a calendar year at my events. Both draws will take place before Round 3 on Saturday 5th May!
There is still rooms available at our venue, the Normandy Hotel. A Single is £59.45 PRPN and a Double/Twin is £78.90 PRPN (both including breakfast) when you mention you are taking part in the congress while booking. Contact details for the hotel are on the entry form.
A few announcements:

The Renfrew Congress Championship will, due to the number of entrants, be merged with the U2000 section this weekend. Both sections will however maintain their individual prize structures, and the merger will also mean that all games between those Fide rated under 2200 will now be Fide graded, not just under 2000.

The Fide Rapidplay has been cancelled due to lack of interest. My apologies to those who have contacted me in the last couple of days wishing to enter after the decision to cancel had been made.

There is still time to enter the main congress, with entries being taken up to noon tomorrow, and also the Fide Blitz, which will be open to new entrants up to 6pm on Saturday. If you do not currently have a Fide Identification Number please enter earlier so that one can be arranged for you.

Provisional draws and results and from the weekend will be available on this thread.
Draws, results and tables will appear online here.

Round 4 results and round 5 draw now available in all 3 sections.

Quickplay now finished. Full results on web. Please check the FIDE report for accuracy if you played in the Quickplay.

U1700 section now finished and all results posted. 4 games still ongoing with 2 of interest to the prize list. And don't forget the Armageddon tie breakers.

U1400 section finished now. And that's the Champ/U2000 done, no doubt Gary will post a list of winners but Steve Mannion won the Championship.
