The congress is now just a month away and full details can be found on the Chess Scotland website. There is still time to take advantage of our offer of a £3 discount if you enter before midnight 2nd June. This discount is in addition to the others we offer for membership of Chess Scotland or another national federation, playing regularly at Largs and for family entries with juniors.
This year we have added free entry prizes for both Stirling and Largs Viking Congresses in 2018, which means players who win their section or a grading prize will get 3 congresses for the price of 1 with junior prize winners also winning these additional prizes. Those who tie for a prize but miss out in a tie-break will receive 2 congresses for the price of 1 with free entry to either Stirling or Largs next year.
The Largs Live Music Festival will be taking place on the same weekend meaning there will be plenty of entertainment away from the chess boards in venues across Largs for those staying over.
Everyone on the Largs Viking team is looking forward to welcoming you all to Largs!
There is still time to enter this year's congress, closing date is noon Friday 23rd June!
Challengers and Open pairings and results from Largs will appear here,
http://ayrshirechess.co.uk/largs%20viking%202017.html
Round 1 pairings are now available, though in the Challengers it's more of a pairing.
For the Challengers the round 2 pairing is now available. I don't say result as well as there was no chess played in the Challengers in the 1st round.
Open round 2 pairings available.
Challenger round 3 pairings are now availalble.
Open pairings available now.
All the round 4 results and round 5 draws now available.
Thanks to all the staff at the Vikingar, North Ayrshire Council, Chess Scotland, John McNicoll, Bob Simpson, all those who kindly donated and nost of all to all who played at this year's congress.
