Says “play opens Monday, and continues until August 5 in the Magistrates Room, 40 John St., Glasgow…”

Play to take place from 9am to 1pm and 5.30pm to 7.30pm, with next Friday reserved

(10am to 1pm) for unfinished games. [Not sure if event started July 27, a Monday.

According to ‘Chess' Vol. 18. No. 216, September 1953, p225, Knopfler lost his games against Penrose, Golombek and Yanofsky by default. Chess also shows crosstable.
