William Murray

c.1883 ─ 1932

William Murray, Wine and Spirit Merchant, was a member of the Central CC (Glasgow). He played a lot of chess in his younger days, but later took up Kriegspiel and became one of the best exponents of this form of the game in Scotland.

He died suddenly on 19 June 1932 at Gourock, aged only 49.
