A. Lindsay & Miss M. Lindsay

The British Chess Magazine 1933 (p 203) reported that Mr A. Lindsay died on March 26, at the age of 71. Mr Lindsay established the Stirling Chess Club in 1893, and conducted a weekly chess column in the Stirling Observer for many years.

The Glasgow Herald chess column of 8 February 1941 reported

'that under the will of the late Miss M. Lindsay the Stirling CC receive the useful legacy of £300, to be invested as a trust to provide an annual gold medal for the holder of the club championship. Miss Lindsay was a daughter of the late Mr David Lindsay, one of the founders of the Stirling club.'
