From the High School of Glasgow Bulletin of 30 April 1969.
Although London had a well-played victory, the match was a close one, for Michael Freeman erred in a strong position, and Michael Partis made a mistake on the very last move before time was called. It was also unfortunate for Glasgow that Board 3 ended in a very early grandmaster draw. The largest gallery of spectators were attracted to Ken McAlpine's fascinating win, which he achieved with less than 10 seconds to spare!
