The play-off match between Gibson and Wenman was held in Glasgow April 30-May 1. The match was for the best of three games, and this resulted in a win for Wenman by 2-1 with one draw. The new Scottish champion is an Englishman, and has been well-known in Scottish chess since 1911. He has tied for the championship twice before. During the past season he played for Glasgow Central CC, but at present he resides in Edinburgh.
