Mr John D. Chambers donated a prize of £2 to the winner of the best played game.

Mills had previously won the championship in 1885,1887 and 1892. This win in 1895 was the first of three consecutive victories (with further wins in 1899 and 1900).

Minor Tournament

There were six entrants, and the competition was won by W.A. Clark (London) after a play-off against J.R. Henderson (Perth), both having scored 4 points. The other players were:- A.C.A. Jonas (Glasgow), J. Connor (Gairlochhead), Dr Dickson and Charles Lyell (Carnoustie).

Handicap Tournament

There were 14 entrants for this event. The final was won by G.B. Fraser against A.C.A. Jonas.
