Richardson Cup 1927

The final took place on Saturday, March 26 at the Athenaeum, in the rooms of the Glasgow CC (the holders of the cup), and the Bohemian CC, another strong Glasgow club.

The Bohemians were strengthened by the inclusion of David Joseph, a strong North of England player, an early example of the importation of a player for a Richardson Cup match, an issue that would cause much discussion in later years. Incidentally, Mr Joseph would also be imported for the 1928 Richardson final, but on that occasion he would take the top board for the Glasgow Jewish CC!

This was the fourteenth win for Glasgow CC in the competition.
