Lord Kirkwood Prizes

Chess Scotland is proud to confirm that Lord Kirkwood is once again supporting some special prizes at the 2007 Scottish Championships.

These are:

Best Game Prize

Best Swindle

Giant Killer

Please note that the Giant Killer Prize will be awarded to the player who defeats a much higher rated player with the greatest rating difference determining the winner..  To win the prize the following condition must be satisfied (a) the grading difference must exceed 150 points and the win must be achieved by normal means.  If a win is awarded because of an opponent's behaviour (including phone ringing) then the Congress Organiser will decide if the game is eligible for the prize.  The position on the board and how long play has been going on will be taken into consideration when making this decision.  Because of the nature of this award no appeal will be allowed on this decision.
