Looks like they are having major issues. If they want to fly out Dave, Steve and me I'm quite sure we can get it going Big Grin

Unfortunately, Ali lost today - a Slav that went a bit wrong. Tomorrow on 50% and it will presumably be very close as to whether Ali is in the top or bottom half.

The latter of those two options came up.

Ali has white vs seed no. 80

Published grade 1619 but knowing Ali she work just as hard as if she was up against a 2000 + opponent.

Ali won't need long to go through all the published games of her opponent :\

The U10 open section appears to feature four remarkable pairings, between a player on 2/2 and a player who 'wasn't paired' in round 1 and lost in round 2.

Round 4 Pairing

18 49 Roy Ali SCO 1891 2 2 WCM Leks Maria POL 2076 27

Both Ali and Maria have had White, Black, White, winning with the white pieces and losing with black. Let's hope the sequence continues tomorrow as Ali gets her second white in a row in round 4.

Some more oddities in round 4 in the U10 open with one of England's young players on 1 point from the first round when they weren't paired meeting an opponent who has 2 points and a kid from Kazakhstan who has 1.5 but wasn't paired in the first round and scored 0 points matched against an Indian kid on 2.5.

The board 3 pairing doesn't help me make any sense of it either. I must have missed this section of the pairing rules when I was studying for the arbiters exam.

Diana Mirza of Ireland, who played in the Scottish Championships in Glasgow a couple of years ago, has had a great start with 3 out of 3 in the under 14 girls.
