Oh well, that's fine then. The fact that Keith is English doesn't concern me either.

Andy,

Did the players pick Keith or did you pick him?

Surely, unless you want to be accused of sexism your question should be ...

And the teams are?

I'm interested in knowing this as well. Maybe there aren't enough players from Richardson finalists Edinburgh West and Hamilton (see Topolov simul post if necessary).

Mmm, how big a hole could I dig for myself here? Now where did I put my ginormous spade?

Robin,
The first rule of this forum is "never let facts get in the way of good banter".

Geoff Chandler has been building a reputation on that rule for at least a decade.

PS I still don't think there are enough Hamilton players in the team!!

Directors are put in place by the agm to direct - clue is in the name.

I am sure Andy Muir treated all applicants equally without taking account where they live - remember that he is a paid up member at Hamilton.

According to the front page the event starts on August 27.
Which leaves plenty of time for the players to join the Hamilton club - which runs throughout the summer I believe - apart from election night May 3rd.

It seems appropriate to me that the merits of unsuccessful candidates are not debated on the notice board. Again Andy Muir has got it right.

Phil,

And here was me thinking you must be Scottish or have qualified to play for Scotland or maybe even had an affinity to play for Scotland. You should certainly be a member of ChessScotland as a minimum when selected I would suggest. Mind you, if you say Andy Muir is right and you think it's correct to distribute ChessScotland funds in this way, thanks for letting CS members know where you stand,

Robin.

That's probably because a lot of them are not CS members!
