:-)

Re: Lothians Congress - Alan Tate - 02-10-2011

What's with all the draws??!! Not the most inspiring tournament I ever saw!

Re: Lothians Congress - Graham Kerr - 02-10-2011

yeah, seems like it was more important not to lose.
nice win for Alan Birnie, probably the most entertaining game shown over the weekend

Re: Lothians Congress - Mike Mitchell - 02-10-2011

Well done Andy on what looks like a very successful first Congress outing for the sensory boards! What was the feedback at the Congress, anybody have any comments?

Re: Lothians Congress - Alan Tate - 02-10-2011

To put it in perspective: The winner, Dmitriy Payada, lost a game and still won the open outright!

Maybe some anti-draw rule should be looked at with the live boards. It's a weekend tournament, not the World Championship.

I'd seriously consider using this rule in the Scottish as well.

Re: Lothians Congress - Graham Kerr - 03-10-2011

But he also won more games (3) than anyone else, with the exception of Jonathan Grant, who also lost a game.
His score includes a full point bye in round 1, due to an odd number of players.
