What's it called? Cumbernauld (21st November 2001). This BBC News article reports that Cumbernauld Town Centre had just been voted the most dismal place in Scotland by readers of a business magazine, although the award is described as a "cheap publicity stunt" by an architectural consultant. We also learn that Cumbernauld is Gaelic for "meeting of the waters" and is the largest town in the North Lanarkshire area

Palacerigg Country Park Situated on the southern outskirts of Cumbernauld, provides a sanctuary for native Scottish and European animals as well as numerous rare farm breeds, from 'Monklands Online'
