Player of the Year award 2007-2008

The James G McDonald Memorial Trophy is awarded to the player whose talents and/or achievements are judged to have made the greatest contribution to Scottish chess over the 12 months preceding the annual Scottish Congress.

A shortlist of candidates is generated by nominations made by Chess Scotland members.

Please send your nomination to Membership@ChessScotland.com by Saturday June 7, 2008 (date extended). These are not votes, just your nomination of a possible candidate. Please note that the same player cannot win again within a three year period unless "exceptional circumstances" prevail.

Voting slips will be issued with the June edition of SCM (separate communication to non-mag) and the award will be presented at the prizegiving ceremony during the Scottish Championships.
