Player of the Year award 2009-2010

The James G McDonald Memorial Trophy is awarded to the player whose talents and/or achievements are judged to have made the greatest contribution to Scottish chess over the 12 months preceding the annual Scottish Congress.

A shortlist of candidates is generated by nominations made by Chess Scotland members.

Please send your nomination to Membership@ChessScotland.com by Thursday, April 15, 2010. These are not votes, just your nomination of a possible candidate. Please note that the same player cannot win again within a three year period unless "exceptional circumstances" prevail.

A short paragraph indicating why you think the player is worthy of nomination would be useful to appear in the notes if your candidate is shortlisted on the voting form.

Voting slips will be issued with either the April or June edition of SCM (separate communication to non-mag) and the award will be presented at the prizegiving ceremony during the Scottish Championships.
