This event is currently sponsored by ChessBase
and the SJCA Educational Trust and is open to players aged 16
and under. The junior grand prix is run by Alex
McFarlane
Although all juniors will appear on the list,
only members of Chess Scotland will be eligible to win prizes.
All congresses including one day allegros will
be included in the Grand Prix but local events will not. Team events
will not count either.
Points will be awarded as follows:
- Open events - a score of 20% is required
to gain a norm, your score will then be multiplied by 5 to give your
Grand Prix points for the event.
- Grading restricted to U1800 or more
- a score of 30% is required, thereafter your score will be multiplied
by 4 to give your Grand Prix points for the event.
- Grading restricted to U1550 or more
- a score of 30% is required, thereafter your score will be multiplied
by 3 to give your Grand Prix points for the event.
- Grading restricted to U1350 or more
- a score of 30% is required, thereafter your score will be multiplied
by 2 to give your Grand Prix points for the event.
- Grading restricted to U1349 - a score
of 30% is required, thereafter your score will be your Grand Prix
points for the event.
- Junior events of 2 days or more - a
score of 50% is required, thereafter your score will be your Grand
prix points for the event.
- One Day Junior events - a score of 50%
is required, thereafter your score will be halved to give your Grand
Prix points for the event.
- Various tournaments, including the Chess
Scotland Age Championships, will have greater multiples applied.
