Richardson Cup 1995-1996

Polytechnic CC win the Richardson for the fitrst time in 10 years, and bring to an end a sequence of 6 losing appearances in the final, an unenviable record held jointly by themselves and Cathcart. Dundee and Victoria reach their fourth consecutive final, a feat achieved previously by only Glasgow, Edinburgh, Glasgow University Union, Cathcart and Polytechnic and exceeded by only the first two of these. Oban made a successful first appearance, seeing off a challenge from Paisley who had won the tournament only 2 years previously. Administratively, problems arose over the Edinburgh West v Cathcart round 2 match which had to be postponed because of heavy snowfall on the day. This caused a delay to the following semi-final.
